TURNING POINT HOME

The Turning Point Home for twilight children was started
and sponsored by members of the St George's Anglican Church
congregation, situated in Johannesburg, South Africa. The
intention was to create a permanent home for children in
desperate need whose parents had died of aids or who had come
across the border from other African countries and with
nowhere else to go.
The home has started small with approximately 8 boys in total
living there on a permanent basis. Each child, supervised by
house mother Peggy Nyerenda, is fed, encouraged and assisted
with school work and given the opportunity to play and
develop. The boys have also had the chance to explore their
artistic talents. Some of the illustrations they have
produced, have been used to make up cards, the proceeds from
the sale of which, have helped to raise money for the home.
If anyone feels like contributing
to the home they are welcome to contact St George's Church.
